Matt is an artist, writer, director, musician in no particular order. His wife Liz and son Cavin call California home, yet they have left huge chunks of their Puuwai in Hawaii where they lived and served as school teachers and church planters (Elevate Church) for three years- A hui hou.
The artist and his family returned to the mainland in 2007 to be closer to family. He became the director of production arts at Yosemite Church in Merced as of January 2008.
Matt grew up all over California with brief moments in Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Belarus and of course, Hawaii.
Matt graduated from California Baptist University in Southern California with a B.F.A. in visual and performing arts.
Matt's work has showed in Colorado, Hawaii and California. He has maintained a permanent presence in Hawaii at the prestigious Chase & Hanes gallery until they were forced to close their doors in 2009 due to the economy.
The artist has also been invited to show his work in numerous fine art exhibits, art hops and social events in Hawaii and California.
Matt is constantly inspired by the world around him. He loves bright color palletes, movie subjects, tattoo art and new pop realism.
Materials of choice are acrylic paint, pen & ink & charcoal.
